A Day in Hong Kong

The weather was lovely and warm for our busy day in HK. We decided to take the Red Bus Tour and see as much of the city as possible. We got off at the stop for the Peak Tram which is one of the oldest and most famous Funicular Railways. As you will see from the photo there is a wonderful view of HK and Kowloon. It rises 1300 feet above sea level and the track is at a 45 degree angle in some parts - awesome! We had coffee in a cafe that must have one of the best views in the world.
We continued our journey and got off at the Star Ferry Terminal and crossed Victoria Harbour to Kowloon Island - one of the busiest waterways around and suggested by National Geographic as one of the "50 places of a lifetime".

We had a look round the Harbour City Mall and returned to pick up another ferry back to HK.

We then visited Hong Kong Park and it is an oasis of green among the urban High Rise landscape. It has aviary, greenhouse, visual arts centre, fountaisn, waterfall, wonderful plantings and even a Marriage Registry Office. There were lots of weddings as well as graduations photo shoots taking place. Well worth a visit. From there we went to Admiralty Station to meet our friends Bill and Melanie and on to Maxims in the City Hall. We enjoyed their company and had an excellent meal - catching up on news holiday experiences. Tomorrow afternoon it is on to Auckland and another 12 hour flight. That's all for now from Iain and Janice.

As you say it looks awesome! Hope trip was OK and good luck with next one. x
